Check your ring periodically for loose stones or prongs. If anything feels loose or looks damaged, stop wearing the ring and bring it in immediately for inspection and repair.

Storage

What is Diamond Cut? (And Why It Matters Most)

Cut is the most important of the 4 Cs. It refers to how well the diamond has been shaped and faceted — not the shape (like oval or round), but how well it reflects light. A well-cut diamond will sparkle with brilliance, fire, and scintillation. Even a diamond with perfect color and clarity will look dull if it isn’t cut properly.

Diamond Color Scale Explained

Diamond color is graded from D (colorless) to Z (noticeable yellow or brown tint). Most customers prefer diamonds in the near-colorless range (G, H, I), which look beautiful in most settings and offer excellent value.

Princess Bride Tip: Yellow gold settings can help mask warmer diamond tones, giving you more flexibility in color choice and budget.

Diamond Clarity Grades Made Simple

Clarity measures the presence of natural inclusions or blemishes in the diamond. The scale ranges from Flawless (FL) to Included (I1, I2). Most customers choose VS or SI grades, where inclusions are minor and often invisible to the naked eye. These are called "eye-clean" diamonds.

Princess Bride Tip: We personally vet every diamond and only offer stones that are eye-clean and beautiful, regardless of the official clarity grade.

Carat Weight vs Diamond Size

Carat refers to a diamond’s weight, not its size. A higher carat can mean a larger-looking stone, but it depends on cut proportions too. Some shapes, like oval and pear, tend to look larger per carat than a round diamond of the same weight.
