Each diamond is photographed in-house at 20x magnification so you can view the exact diamond you are purchasing, not a stock image.

The majority of our diamonds are graded VS1 or higher. Diamonds graded VS1 and above are guaranteed to be eye-clean, meaning no inclusions are visible to the naked eye. Even at 20x magnification, inclusions are typically very difficult to detect, ensuring a clean and beautiful appearance in everyday wear.

Every diamond at Princess Bride Diamonds is personally vetted by our owner, Tito, to ensure exceptional quality, durability, and long-term wearability.

Before a diamond is offered to our clients, we carefully evaluate the following criteria:

Girdle Thickness: All diamonds meet a minimum of a medium girdle standard and are never below thin. This helps reduce the risk of chipping or breaking over time and ensures your diamond is suitable for everyday wear.

Color Standards: We select only colorless diamonds, so your stone appears bright, crisp, and beautifully white once set.

Clarity Standards:

  • Lab-Grown Diamonds: VS1 clarity or higher
  • Natural Diamonds: SI1 clarity or higher

These standards ensure all diamonds are eye-clean, with no visible inclusions to the naked eye.

Cut, Polish & Symmetry:

  • Lab-Grown Diamonds: Minimum Excellent cut, polish, and symmetry
  • Natural Diamonds: Minimum Excellent to Very Good cut, polish, and symmetry

Our strict cut standards ensure optimal light performance, brilliance, and fire, so your diamond sparkles beautifully from every angle.

By combining expert vetting with uncompromising quality requirements, we ensure every diamond we offer is not only stunning, but also built to last for a lifetime.

4 C's Guide

If you're buying an engagement ring or simply want to understand how diamonds are graded, learning the 4 Cs is the best place to start. These four key factors — cut, color, clarity, and carat — determine a diamond’s value, beauty, and brilliance. Here’s how to choose the right diamond for your style and budget.

PBD Diamond Education graphic showing diamond shapes, color scale, clarity scale, and carat sizes for understanding the 4 Cs.

A visual breakdown of the 4 Cs: Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat

What is Diamond Cut? (And Why It Matters Most)

Cut is the most important of the 4 Cs. It refers to how well the diamond has been shaped and faceted — not the shape (like oval or round), but how well it reflects light. A well-cut diamond will sparkle with brilliance, fire, and scintillation. Even a diamond with perfect color and clarity will look dull if it isn’t cut properly.

Princess Bride Tip: We always prioritize cut quality first when helping clients choose their center stone because it has the biggest impact on sparkle.

Diamond Color Scale Explained

Diamond color is graded from D (colorless) to Z (noticeable yellow or brown tint). Most customers prefer diamonds in the near-colorless range (G, H, I), which look beautiful in most settings and offer excellent value.

Princess Bride Tip: Yellow gold settings can help mask warmer diamond tones, giving you more flexibility in color choice and budget.

Diamond Clarity Grades Made Simple

Clarity measures the presence of natural inclusions or blemishes in the diamond. The scale ranges from Flawless (FL) to Included (I1, I2). Most customers choose VS or SI grades, where inclusions are minor and often invisible to the naked eye. These are called "eye-clean" diamonds.

Princess Bride Tip: We personally vet every diamond and only offer stones that are eye-clean and beautiful, regardless of the official clarity grade.

Carat Weight vs Diamond Size

Carat refers to a diamond’s weight, not its size. A higher carat can mean a larger-looking stone, but it depends on cut proportions too. Some shapes, like oval and pear, tend to look larger per carat than a round diamond of the same weight.

Princess Bride Tip: We help our clients balance carat weight with cut quality and setting style to make the most of their budget and visual impact.

1.06 Carat E-VVS2 Round Lab Grown Diamond - IGI (#121882)

$660.00

This Diamond's Four C’s

Carat: 1.06ct

What is carat?

Carat is a measure of a diamond's weight, not its size. One carat equals 200 milligrams. Larger diamonds typically have higher carat weights, but other factors, such as cut and clarity, also influence a diamond's appearance.

Shopping Tips:

  • Carat weight impacts diamond size perception significantly.
  • Quality matters more than sheer carat weight.
  • Consider budget, lifestyle, and customization for the ideal selection.

Color: E

What does E color mean?

E Color diamonds are also colorless, with only minute traces of color detectable by gemologists under specific lighting conditions, which are generally indistinguishable to the untrained eye.

Why choose E color?

  • Near Perfect Colorlessness: E color diamonds provide nearly the same visual appearance as D color but at a slightly lower cost.
  • High Brilliance and Appeal: They offer exceptional brilliance, making them highly desirable for those looking for colorless diamonds without the premium price of a D color.
  • Excellent Value for Money: These diamonds strike a balance between cost and the aesthetic of absolute colorlessness, appealing to discerning buyers who seek nearly the best without the highest price tag.

Clarity: VVS2

What does VVS2 mean?

VVS2 diamonds have minute inclusions slightly more visible than VVS1 but still challenging to detect under 10x magnification.

Why choose VVS2 clarity?

  • High Clarity: VVS2 diamonds maintain excellent clarity, with inclusions that do not generally affect the stone’s brilliance.
  • Cost-Effective: Provides a good balance between high clarity and cost, making it an attractive option for many buyers.
  • Desirable Quality: Offers a high-quality appearance for those wanting a diamond that appears flawless to the naked eye.

Cut: Ideal
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent

What does Ideal cut mean?

An Ideal Cut diamond represents the highest standard in diamond cutting and is designed to deliver the most attractive balance of brilliance, fire, and scintillation. This cut is precisely engineered to maximize the light that enters through the top of the diamond, allowing it to travel within the gem and reflect back through the top, creating an exceptional display of light and color. Ideal Cut diamonds are cut to ideal proportions with excellent symmetry and polish, ensuring that the angles and sizes of each facet are optimized for the best possible light performance. This meticulous attention to detail in cutting enhances the diamond’s overall beauty, making it appear more luminous and visually stunning.

What does Excellent polish mean?

Excellent Polish indicates that a diamond's surface is finished to a very high standard, with no visible marks or defects when observed under 10x magnification. This grade represents the highest level of finish achievable.

What does Excellent symmetry mean?

Excellent Symmetry reflects perfect alignment and proportion of all facets across the diamond, which significantly enhances its overall appearance and light performance.
